Re: "So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction"
Love, love, love the Holidays.
Got my Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and spent the whole weekend with the family listening to holiday music and decorating. Man, there was eggnog, gingerbread, cupcakes, hot chocolate, plenty of wine, beer, and buttered rum for the adults. How relaxing. How fun. Just unplugging from all the bullshit and spending time with the people you love. Doing arts and crafts instead of deep analysis on data. Busting out snow globes and nutcrackers and setting them like sentries throughout the house.
Just fun stuff. And not only doing it for a weekend, but carrying it on for a month. Daily advent calendars. Setting up the snow projector and outdoor lights. Taking those extra moments to spread a little Christmas cheer - wear a Santa hat to make the kids laugh, keep it on while jogging through the neighborhood. Every day I wake up and the world is still here, but it's just a tad more cheerful than usual. Lamp posts are wreathed with garlands. The Starbucks litter is more colorful. Cars start sporting reindeer antlers and giant bows.
I love the holidays.
But all that laid back merry making, relaxation, and time with loved ones REALLY pisses off the leftist. Ohhhhhh those motherfuckers HATE the holidays.
... which is pretty much all you need to know about them. You can deduce everything else about those folks from that single fact, and easily hit 98% accuracy.

You're right. I'm unable to process how a liberal who won't support building a wall for national security somehow thinks exporting natural gas should be illegal in the name of nation security. I'm proud to be unable to rationalize progressive, liberal and socialist logic.

This Monte guy is an absolute ignoramus when it comes to cutting edge environmental science that I practice on a daily basis. I told him he should reduce his carbon footprint, so he covered the sole of his shoe in lighter fluid and burned it off. I had to calmly explain to him that by burning his rubber sole he had actually released even more C02 Emissions and would actually make his carbon footprint far worse. He told me that even if he was releasing emissions from his Van, the emissions wouldn't be the same as my car because of the metric system and the fact that they call gasoline "petrol" over in Europe. I said it doesn't matter you dumb fuck!

What? So you're saying that painting my truck an olive colour won't make it greener?heydaralon wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 1:38 pmThis Monte guy is an absolute ignoramus when it comes to cutting edge environmental science that I practice on a daily basis. JK man, I love Christmas too.
Just curious, are you planning to share your time or wealth to help the needy? I hear there’s a lot of homeless people in Seattle.

Well, my family needs me these holidays, and they're more invested in me personally than the homeless are.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
I like doing the food drives during the holiday season. This year I saw a group with a big chalkboard sign listing their top 10 food needs standing outside of the grocery store. That was genius. Made it real easy to mentally note those items and throw them in the basket. I'm not planning to do any volunteer work but I'll do some spending on well known (or well run) charities.
I understand folks who don't have family, or maybe who lost family during the holidays being bah-humbuggish about the season. Fair enough. I understand angsty teens who hate Christmas and everything else "grown ups" like do it. But you take those people out of the equation and there's still this giant remainder of people who should probably like the Holidays, but have decided not to for various reasons.
Those are the ones who need to relent a bit on the yearly Grinching.
"Hey all, I've got my health, financial stability, a family I love, BUT ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH IT'S FUCKING CHRISTMAS AGAIN! NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF DIMWIT GOD-BOTHERERS MINDLESSLY FEEDING THEIR CAPITALIST MASTERS WHARRRRGARRRBLLLLLL!!!!"

Easiest way to find them is to wish them a Merry Christmas. You can tell immediately by their facial response. It's like exposing a vampire to holy water.
