It's not rocket science, it's just tough medicine. Hard to swallow pills for most honest people.

Next-level, and much harder, pill to swallow:

I've seen that book cited a few times. I'll take a look and offer a response. Briefly, what makes it next level and harder to swallow? Church hierarchy hardly seems radical.

You’re sidestepping. You know as well as I do who’s getting most of the money, and it’s not the carpenters and laborers. The tristate area has always run on patronage with the lions share going to law enforcement, management, and corruption. When more people started demanding a share of the spoils, the system became unsustainable.
Who do you think the union members and pensioners vote for?
Because they wanted a share. The answer is to head off corruption as much as possible so we don’t get to this point where the blatant theft at the top caused a cascading effect, not to entirely destroy the prosperity machine.

Here you go Hanarachy - I'll keep it real simple for you....

Perhaps tyranny of king (which requires removal of a single individual) is less of a threat than the tyranny of Mob rule.

King results in a crap shoot every generation...but the cycles are longer...and bad kings can be killed....thus, which is more stable over the long run?

Not like anyone has ever debated this before.....

So give up? Ask a tyrant to solve it for you?

Has more to do with our conception of liberty as a self-evident good. Or what most people call "liberty", anyway. Seems to lead to tyranny in all cases.

I'll look at it.

"Liberty" =/= "Libertine," BTW.

The people we see prancing around naked and stoned at LP conventions are libertines. Not the same thing as a libertarian. Libertines believe in all sorts of SJW nonsense and all sorts of compelling others to behave in a certain way while they get high and fuck knot-holes.

The most important liberty, IMNSHO, is the natural right to earn an honest living without the involvement of the state.

EDIT: Dammit dude, no kindle version, so no free sample; and the paperback is $29. I may have to wait until I have time to scour the local libraries, unless you have a pdf available somewhere.

EDIT 2: I remember where I've seen it cited before now. This Chris Ferrara lawyer has had some pushback from at least one rather tame Catholic, and one rather untamed Austrian. https://tomwoods.com/on-chris-ferrara/

FWIW, I think you might like some of Woods' Catholic books (links in the piece I linked up there). He takes his faith VERY seriously.

Big city lawyer can't expense it as CLE?
