Is there a crime problem? It’s such a beautiful downtown - tons of amenities, great restaurants, a great bookstore, museums, and friendly people (although they could all be tourists for all I know). Plus it’s close to all the river towns. And low PA property taxes.

Yep, when I retire. I might as well get some of my money back - I subsidized the lower tax states for a long time. Most of them are fiscally happy to see the northeast retirees heading their way anyway - we bring money into their economy and don’t burden their school systems. Anyways, the places I’d likely move are already blue or purple.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 4:01 pmLiberals fleeing their progressive urban bastions for lower taxes?

If you hate paying taxes, re-evaluate what you want govt to do. Don't move and ruin decent places. Florida gets a lot of shit, but all these snow bird fucks aren't helping anything. You should move to Niagara NY. They have a great Aerospace Museum. You aren't welcome anywhere else though. Seriously. And change your avatar. You never fought in the Civil War=Stolen Valor. I'll bet you didn't even paint that picture.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 4:43 pmYep, when I retire. I might as well get some of my money back - I subsidized the lower tax states for a long time. Wonderful. I’ve been walking around downtown after dark all fall. Now I know why I never see anyone else.clubgop wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 6:34 pmThat's great, be somewhere else after 8pm.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 3:42 pmIs there a crime problem? Like I said it's a county seat so everybody is either a bureaucrat or has their hands out. Good ol fashioned rent seeking. When the offices close everybody goes away.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 7:04 pmWonderful. I’ve been walking around downtown after dark all fall.
