More like eternal purgatory.
The brilliant plan that they have taken 2 1/2 years to come up with is to have a transition period for another 3 years followed by a ''backstop'' period where we keep all the customs reg's and stay in the free market until we can come up with a phase 3 agreement on how to leave.

Right at the start of this thread, I predicted it would be about 5 years of uncertainty in the markets and unwillingness to invest before we left. It seems I may have been over-optimistic.

People think that Trump is the Great Rejection of the Establishment, but for my money, it's Brexit.

They simply refuse to accept the results of the issue that they put on the ballot. I heard last week, they wanted a "redo" on the vote, to see if the public is really, really sure about this, and phrasing the question differently.

The British public have had no say on how we proceed. The deal was worked out behind closed doors and sent to Brussels for approval before anyone else got to see it.
Even the Brexit minister who's job it has been to come up with the plan couldn't support it and resigned.

No one is asking for a second referendum with a reworded ballot.
What is being called for is a say on the plan being presented.

So if you vote no, then Brexit is cancelled?
Do you get a say in what part of it gets changed?

No. The choice will be the plan presented or a ''no deal'' exit.
No deal exit means abandoning all trade deals with the EU and trading under WTO rules. It would also mean a return to hard borders which results in massive disruption to trade as all traffic from the EU is searched at the border. The biggest problem would be the border between NI and the ROI where both countries have said they will not accept a return to a hard border between them.

A report on the disastrous effects of a no deal exit was suppressed because the conclusion was so harmful to the economy.

Meanwhile, we have had 2 1/2 years of uncertainty in the markets hampering recovery in the economy and a weak government concentrating on this single issue to the detriment of all others.

The main difference between Trump's election as President and Boris and Farage's Brexit victory is that both leaders of the Brexit campaign realised immediately that they had no idea how to proceed after their win and resigned straight away but Trump was too dumb to know he is not equipped to lead and is still there.

This is not a Left-Right issue, both wings are equally divided on Brexit.
