Comics are 98% crap. The most popular stuff is mediocre at best. in other words no different than other art forms. As a kid, I never liked DC or Marvel. I preferred French and Belgian comics. Not as infantile and fascistic as the American stuff. It got a bit better after the 80's when Frank Miller and Alan Moore made some inspired efforts and showed the way but the Hollywood connection dragged the whole thing back down again. I don't think most people who mourn Stan Lee today ever read a single panel from his comics production. The just know he invented some characters they've seen on screen.

That's sad news. I used to watch him play on TV as a kid and I was just in awe of his skill even then.

Roy Clark, one of the most talented people of the 20th Century with stringed instruments. Mostly known today for his time on Hee Haw.
