I don't know, man. Somehow I got stuck dealing with a lot of them in my life these days, and they pretty much all have similar problems. The good ones still have the problems, they just don't let it fuck up their professional lives (or try not to).

It's hard to break out of how one is raised, and boomers fucked up big time.

Millennials might be a joke, but their boomer parents deserve historical condemnation for what they did to an entire generation (their own children).

People are cuddled. That is the main issue. We have it super soft and for some people maybe even most people they cannot be stoic or practice self reliance to any significant degree.

My opinion likewise has been molded by my experiences with Millenials, and the bulk of that was training and deploying Millenials to deploy for GWOT. We've got some damn good Millenial kids. I realize I was dealing with the top 1% of Millenials, but it left a good impression on me.

Boomers are the most selfish generation ever. They were handed the world on a silver platter and did nothing but consume, Paul Begala(Clinton Admin) even calls them the Locust Generation. Begala wrote a great piece I remember reading in the early years of the internet. From April of 2000,

It’s the “culture wars” - marxists vs liberalists - marxist boomers raised POS kids. Linerialist boomers raised self dependent kids.

Marxism is the cancer in our society - Hash correctly identified it.

Marxism in America is downstream of urbanism. There aren't many Marxists outside the cities..

This has been for many years an urban versus rural conflict.

Why is it so damn difficult to be cultured/cosmopolitan and not a liberal? Is it as simple as most people who are interested in ideas and open to experience bend liberal? It's like fuck man I'm super interested in literature , plays, art, history, philosophy, and "culture" and not Marxist so what the hell gives ?

I think it is a genetic adaptation. Urban life is an environmental change, and any environmental change can have an effect on natural selection. In this case I suspect it is sexual selection. The kinds of people who prosper best in a city are able to ignore in-group preference, live amongst strangers, and to ignore differences with other people. This increases their opportunities to make and reproduce in that environment.

In Before the Dawn, Wade discusses anthropological research indicating homo sapiens were a kin-bonded species deep in the Paleolithic. At some point humans evolved a genetic behavior that allows them to trust strangers at all. This facilitated trade between groups and led to the first stone age cities (like Jericho), which in turn left to agricultural revolution.

My contention is that there exists a genetic basis for what urbanites call "tolerance". That behavior provides urbanites with distinct advantages. It also could be the source of our perennial urban degeneracy that periodically destroys Western Civilization. To "tolerate" alien culture and ideas, you have to lose your in-group preferences, which I believe is one of the foundations of moral behavior in our species.

Urbanites at this point *still* might think this is some superior evolution, like our ability to transcend kin-bonded (which likely was the source of religiosity), but I still think they are wrong due to one important point: group selection requires a group to work. Whatever you want to say about moral behavior versus degeneracy, most of the important evolutionary steps that made us so unique derived from group selection. To lose group identity at all is the first step in deevolution at worst, but evolutionary stagnation at best.

For instance, you see it in this forum when discussing almost anything with these urbanites. They do not see our people as a people at all. American is just a legal status to them, and they don't even want it to be that. America is just a place to them, like an apartment they happen to live in. American government is merely a service to them, like a utility or phone service. When this service becomes a mess, likely because of them, they will just move somewhere else and start the process again.

They try to counter our in-group preferences with their own invented analogs, but it's artificial and unsustainable. Their identity groups and Marxist intersectionality is their only counter to our tribe. The reason they hate whites and white men especially is not really the same motivation as Nazis hating Jews and blaming Hews for everything (though they are in effect the same thing), but their opposition to our group identity.

Can you be the tribesman that talks and negotiates with the other tribe and still be loyal to your group? I mean it sounds like your saying almost anything associated with a curiosity or openness means less in group preference. But I think our obvious explorative genes pushed us forward as well and I don't know how that trait directly ties in to prefering your group or not really. It might be that humans are curious creatures always mucking about and looking for greener pastures. Some more than others and on the extremes you have astronauts and say dudes like Hernan Cortes and all the other "explorers" and foot soldiers we do not know or remember. And fuck if Cortes wasn't a Spainard through and through.
