Where there is evidence to convict there will be convictions.
Where there is not there is the presumption of innocence.
Unless you suspend habeas corpus this is how is has to be.
The alternative is internment without trial which was tried in Northern Ireland. The policy was widely condemned around the world and had a counter productive effect by increasing recruitment to the IRA and increasing terror attacks.
I don't think another Conservative government will make that same mistake again.
You don't even have to afford them a military tribunal, really. The Geneva Convention doesn't actually provide unlawful combatants with any rights. It simply states what it means to be a combatant, and anything that violates it's strict standard of a combatant is considered an unlawful combatant.

The fact that these women voluntarily traveled to Syria and Iraq to join an enemy against the United Kingdom is sufficient to just execute them on the spot. I still think we should afford them what the Geneva Convention calls a "competent military tribunal", which is fairly straight forward:

>Did you willingly travel to the region from the safety of the UK to join the Islamic State and wage war in violation of international and UK law, including war against the United Kingdom?

>>Yes.

>Guilty. Please follow the three marines to the next point in processing. Thank you.

This is the problem with liberals. They don't understand that there exists a fucking line, and therefore have no idea where that line is even drawn.

If you travel overseas to join an enemy of your own country to wage war against your own country, then guess what cupcake.. You don't have "rights" of a UK citizen over there. You are an enemy combatant and unlawful combatant at the same time. You don't get to play dindu and demand the protections of the laws you just waged war against. Wow.

Stop treating war like fucking law enforcement. My God.

So now we've gone from internment without trial to summary execution.

No thanks, sounds a lttle too police state for me.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

You still do not comprehend. This has nothing to do with police state. This has to do with warfare. Unlawful combatants have been subjected to summary execution for most of our history. Spies get executed. Partisans get executed.

This has nothing to do with your domestic laws, your police, or your feelz. It has everything to do with warfare and not encouraging dishonorable practices.

These people are enemy combatants who are also unlawful enemy combatants. The danger of trying to re-integrate unlawful enemy combatants who essentially have gone savage is high. There is no point in imprisoning them for the rest of their natural lives. You have no obligation to do so.

All it takes is for just one of these evil bitches to blow herself up in a school cafeteria or some food court, and it will not have been worth bringing any of these women back to the UK at all. I would place the lives of innocent Britons at far higher value than the lives of jihadi brides who volunteered to wage a horrific war against humanity.

Parliamentary not martial law is applicable on UK soil.

They are not on UK soil, Monty. They are captured and living in internment camps controlled by Kurds.

It's a matter of whether you place the lives of these jihadi brides, who probably participated in savage torture and waged a war on humanity itself, on par with the lives of innocent Britons.

If (really when) one of these women perpetrate a terror attack on innocent Britons, it's going to be a scene like the one we all saw in Manchester.

Were the lives of the people laying dead on the ground not worth more than the lives of the jihadi brides?

Then they are outside the jurisdiction of UK law.
If they return to the UK then they will be given the rights afforded to them by UK law.

When we were at war with Argentina we did not round up all the Argentinians in the UK.
If there is evidence to convict they will be detained.

Not worth losing habeas corpus over.

Unless you are going to give up 2nd ammendment rights to save mass shooting deaths you have no grounds to demand that the UK drop rights we have had since Magna Carta.

They do not have habeus corpus. Your laws do not apply to Syria and they sure as shit do not apply on the battlefield. How do you still not comprehend this??
