The founding fathers really fucked up when they nailed the windows shut and illegally rammed through the constitution, throwing the baby out with the bath water.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 7:09 pm
Our constitution has an impeachment process. Our legislative branch has a lot of technical power to hold the other branches accountable, if there is the will to do so.
Still, I am not sure how getting rid of consumer protections agencies would limit the power of the supreme court. I mean, packing the court would diminish the power of particular nominations, but that is usually seen as a pretty unpopular move.
In a society that values rule of law, jurists are going to have a good amount of clout. What are ya gonna do?
As for consumer protection agencies, we need them obviously. We also need them to quit being corrupt. I dont have an argument I just wanted to point out that SCOTUS is an abomination.
But, in our system, we aren't actually 'ruled' by judges. There is plenty that could be done to restrain the court, and maybe the will to do it will present itself over the next few decades. Loads o' faggot, low-info progressive libtards are already on the 'eliminate lifetime appointments' bus, after figuring out that every judge wasn't going to be RBG or Warren.
It is a good thing we have an effeminate, adaptable system of government, since no one can predict the future.
We sure as shit are ruled by judges. What planet do you think you live in?
