Liberals are on the side of liberty, personal autonomy. As I have explained before, a "Liberal" believes in Jeffersonian Liberty, where people are responsible for their own actions, and are limited by the liberty of others. The Left believes in Marxist liberty, responsibility is shared by the group, and your liberty takes precedence over others outside the group.

Conservatives aren't much into liberty; either God said it or He didn't. (Or the King.) They often say liberty has some other meaning, or is simply a synonym for "freedom."

I agree on all 3 counts.

I merely speak to common usage of the word today, which is wrong. People want to label me a conservative all the time, I'm not...………… I'm a Classic Liberal. That's why I dislike the Kavanaugh pick, but understand defeating by the presumption of guilt is far more dangerous.
