I think that film is going to be remembered as a strange on in which peoples' reaction to it and their interpretation of it change dramatically between when it was released and post-collapse.

They had the vote, NO MATTER WHAT; it was a simple ignore-and-vote on Monday. Somebody had to be consciously complicit in the debacle.
It was Jeff Flake on the committee and in the larger Senate, Murkowski and Collins. Had to give her a hearing, legal schmeagal, this is politics.

Notice how the Senators involved arent up for reelection. This was strategized and planned. Can't give a Republican incumbent cheap sympathy points.
