Actually if Germany gets pissed off, do we actually want to stop them this time?
They'd probably March on Brussels as a destination, not just pass through this time.
Don’t know if that’s a bad thing or not.

This thread is now officially diablolical.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Where’s Smitty to tell me that China and Russia couldn’t possibly ally themselves against us?

They can't and won't in a meaningful way. They will in little shit, but the Chinese and Soviets have fought long border wars. A lot of water under that bridge.

Well look here...…………………….. It can be done

Hungary abolishes gender studies
Two universities are concerned: Hungary’s biggest state-funded university ELTE, and the Central European University, founded by George Soros. If the amendment becomes official, it will mean that nobody can attend gender studies courses in Hungary and get a degree in the subject.

The Ministry of Human Capacities told HVG.hu later today that there is absolutely no interest for gender studies graduates in the Hungarian job market. EMMI added that the course is economically irrational, so they assume that it’s not launched to give the students useful knowledge, but it serves other interests. According to the ministry, the gender studies MA takes away resources from other courses and harms the economic stability of the universities.

Stop Soros Laws prevent financial funny business in Immigration
The “Stop Soros” package of laws that came into force on Sunday provides Hungary with the best possible protections against the people who organise and finance illegal migration, a ruling Fidesz lawmaker said on Sunday.

British and French boats clash in the channel. Video in link.
Good to see old traditions being maintained.
The UK government has defended British scallop boats involved in clashes with their French counterparts in the English Channel, saying they were legally entitled to operate in the area.

Stones were thrown and boats rammed on Tuesday morning, in the latest of a series of incidents dubbed “scallop wars”.

“We are aware of reports of aggression directed towards UK fishing vessels in an area of the English Channel not under UK control. These vessels were operating in an area they are legally entitled to fish,” said a government spokesperson.
The skirmishes took place more than 12 nautical miles out to sea. Under EU law, British boats are not allowed to fish within 12 miles of the French coast but smaller vessels can dredge for scallops in the 40-mile stretch of international water known as the Baie de Seine – while the French have access only from November to February.

Makes me nostalgic for the cod war of the 1970's.

Scraping the seabed to catch scollops is an ecological disaster and now the stocks are running out the fishermen are fighting over the limited resources left.
Ban the lot of them for 20 years or develop a beter way of fishing for scallops.

I miss Otern's knowledge at times like this. He would have a better idea of what is going on here.
