They think they are being mistreated, remove all amenities except the basics that are required under Geneva convention and then let then complain.

You think the prison systems is cheap? It costs more to keep an inmate in prison than farms are paying illegals. It costs an average of 31k a year to keep a prisoner alive in the US under the standards we use.BjornP wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 2:20 pmAnd you want to reward the heavily subsidized, lobbying farmers with even cheaper labor, because...?The Conservative wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 1:59 pmI keep on saying, if illegal aliens can do the job, the criminals in our prison system can do it too.BjornP wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 12:15 pmOn cheap, US immigrant agricultural workers:

You give them prison workers... They lose their subsidisation.
I think it's a fair trade; they don't pay for workers, they don't get a discount.

It requires necessities, food, water, a place to sleep and not much else.
And the ability to keep a person alive.
You go from 31k a year to probably ⅓ that.

Riight, the taxpayer gains what in return, excatly... except moderately cheaper strawberries? And the farmer employer will have to use prison workers, or is that just a government gift afforded to that particular sector? The Conservative wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 2:36 pmYou think the prison systems is cheap? We probably shouldn't increase the incentive to incarcerate anymore than we can help.

Quite a lot of people don't belong in prison who are trapped there. Our government imprisons people like it's their kink.

And cheaper food without relying on illegal aliens, it's a win/win to me.
