After all compassion is a mistake, StA himself has stated this so it must be true.
Far better to have the homeless resort to crime and then pay for their incarceration after all.
I've been laying out 90 days, way down the road
Damned old judge, he said to me, "It's 90 days for vagrancy"
I've been hittin' some hard travelin', Lord
San Francisco never had streets covered in human shit, used needles, and barely alive junkies when vagrancy was a crime.
That's what your so called compassion accomplishes.
Here's a free piece of wisdom, when your actions directly cause a horrific decline in the welfare of thousands and thousands of people, your actions aren't compassionate.

Recognize that your so-called compassion isn't compassion at all.

It might not work well when government does it, but the motives of the general left are indeed compassionate.Okeefenokee wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 2:41 pmRecognize that your so-called compassion isn't compassion at all.

The motives of the left is not compassionate. It never was. Have you studied history at all? I recommend the Revolutions podcast otherwise.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 2:44 pmIt might not work well when government does it, but the motives of the general left are indeed compassionate.Okeefenokee wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 2:41 pmRecognize that your so-called compassion isn't compassion at all.

The left is obsessed with power, not compassion. They usually feel contempt for the lower classes but that is overpowered by the envy and resentment they feel towards the rich.

Hmm... seeing as how I do consider myself left, but doubt I'm on THE left, who are "the" left? Anarchists on far left, I guess, but where and at what sort of political parties does the right wing of "the" left end, and who would be "the center" and "the right"?

The motive isn't compassion.
Get the fuck out of here with that gaslighting horseshit.
If there was a fucking ounce of compassion in it, you wouldn't see the worst suffering in the nation happening as the result of decades of leftist control.
You import millions of poor people with the expressed purpose of using them for cheap labor, while millions more of your own fellow citizens lose their jobs. You've admitted it countless times. That's not compassion. That's selfishness and greed.
You dole out welfare generation after generation to ensure compliant voting stock, meanwhile the rest of us watch as your vote plantations rot and crumble into a third world status that you would never live in yourself. You destroy millions of lives with intentional dependency. You give them fucking needles, and a free pass to rot into the ground as they inject on city sidewalks, just as long as they keep voting.
You kill babies by the fucking millions.
Take that compassion horse shit somewhere else. You do it for yourselves.

In a Swedish context I count the Social Democrats, the Environmental party, the Left party (former communists) and Feminist Initiative as the left. They are all fueled by resentment and envy when you boil it down.BjornP wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 3:01 pmHmm... seeing as how I do consider myself left, but doubt I'm on THE left, who are "the" left? I don’t count liberals as the left. Socialists and liberals parted ways after 1848 when it became apparent that the liberals were insincere about social reform.

Re: Europe, Boring Until it's Not
Hmm, here the parties of "let everyone in", embracing gender-normative-vegan pissing while sitting down for men-policies comes the Social Liberals and whatever (and whereever) one might place the new party called "The Alternative". Those new guys broke off from the Social Liberals because they weren't "inclusive" enough. They've introduced using jazz hands at their meetings, a gender equality restriction on who's allowed to speak at their meetings and conferences, and both they and the Social Liberal party have recently gone public demanding the Social Democrats abandon their immigration policy - which borrows alot from the Danish People's party. If SD don't change their policy, neither party will point to SD's Mette Frederiksen as PM... So, the Liberal party is likely to keep their ass on the PM post, unless the Danish People's party want it.
I was, many years ago, before the DCF even - for a year - a paying member of the Social Liberal Party. Some of those people I met at meetings did not bother to hide their resentment of people on the lower income levels than themselves - that all the poor were just racists who vote DPP and who needed to heed the words of their more enlightened betters. They don't bother with even pretending to give a shit about Danish citizens who are homeless or poor, but if they're refugees from somewhere far off - the more exotic the better, there are no limits to how much money we should spend on helping them. The Alternative, well... I would not be surprised if they think sitting around in a circle singing "Adiemus" is the solution to both rising homelessness and immigration.
Neither of those two are Socialist or Socialistic, though, so technically not "the left" by Swedish standards, I guess. By American standards, they're positively "Marxist", of course.

On the MHF, “the left” is code for “Communist”. This always leads to useful insight.

Left and sin are the same word.
