Citizens must take responsibility for their government. You can't just stand in the corner and say, those guys are awful, those guys have to take care of this.
Americans have been more than happy to farm out their defense to a 1% minority of the population that is superior both mentally and physically over the population. This 1% is made up primarily of white males.
... what on earth does that have to do with arguing that "voters are responsible" for everything that the government does?
1. Voters vote with almost zero information about what a candidate would actually do in office.
2. Candidates get into office and do whatever the fuck they want.
3. Government does shady shit, invades half the world
4. Voters are responsible for #3 because they voted, or something.
