And because it resulted in the death of two journalists it had received worldwide attention. He knew that the organization Reuters had requested a copy of the video in FOIA [Freedom of Information Act] because it was their two journalists that were killed, and they wanted to have that copy in order to find out what had happened and to ensure that it didn’t happen again. He knew that the United States had responded to that FOIA request almost two years later indicating what they could find and, notably, not the video.
no war crimes here LOL just near a million dead iraqis, all good
It is a treason slam dunk. He knew the information was classified, and he released it because he wanted to hurt the US. Those are his words. That's treason. Put him up against a wall.

Smits told me once that the Fog of War is foggy.
War is the health of the state.
War is the health of the state.

What happened with Trump's audit of the Pentagon? Any progress on that?

There's a lot of things that happen on a battlefield. Killing being one of the trademark activities.
Having a crystal clear picture of everything and everyone on the battlefield isn't something that ever makes an appearance, though.
Reporters show up on battlefields too. And they die on battlefields all the damn time.
Civilians show up on battlefields, strangely. You'd think most people would stay away, but sure enough there are dumb motherfuckers who will walk right into the middle of an active combat zone.
More commonly though, a civilian area will become a battlefield before the civilians have time to evacuate. Either way, the result is usually dead civilians.
As has been stated in the past, what really happened here was a bunch of pampered sheltered civilians got a little glimpse into what happens on a battlefield, and it made them recoil. This brief little window was so far from what hollywood taught them about war, that their immediate reaction was, "surely this is a war crime!"
Nope. It's just war.

Subjective opinion over whether or not a war is justified is a damn sight from war crimes.

I am sick to death of hearing that voters are responsible for things they never voted on.

The voters are responsible for everything. Don't be a child.
