To wit: if I moved to Denmark, married a hot Danish chick, and made a few blond hair, blue eye babies, I still would not become a Dane. My kids.. maybe.. but being raised by me is going to make them part American in subtle ways. It's not until they marry Danes and make babies that the initial American culture and genetics will be diluted enough that we are just talking about more Danes.

If millions of Americans showed up in Denmark.. that's not going to happen. Surely you understand this??

And in this example, I would actually try to assimilate. I would try to raise my kids Danish. That's not happening with these Muslim immigrants at all. Not one bit.

That the amount of immigrants and time taken to integrate them is key to succesfully integrating any foreigner, is something I've brought up myself numerous times. Therefore, it's obvious that if you took a million Americans and planted them in Denmark all at once, Danish culture, values, sense of belonging, would be challenged. It would be possible to integrate some Americans, over time, but it has to happen at a scale and over a time period that actually allows them to integrate. Without constantly getting a new influx of immigrants with their own values, trying to drag them back towards their old ways of life. That's the core problem with, and the blindness inherint in, how progressive/neo-liberal European politicians have pushed immigration from third world countries.

To say that every single Muslim mother and father in Denmark are raising their children to not live by Danish values, as part of Danish culture, respect Danish culture and history, is a lie. What is true is that it's a majority of them don't integrate, and that integration only becomes harder once you import new MENA countries refugees from third world countries. But we do have Muslims who have integrated into Danish society, in a way reminscent of how the Danish Jews did - minus the occasional Jew killings and anti-Jewish laws. But they are too few, and while slightly more have started working and getting an education, still too few of them vote or generally participate in society. Progress is simply too slow.
