If money determined elections, Clinton would be president.

Not about being crazy that was 1900 man. The federal government wasn't the grab bag of goodies that it is now. Santa Claus has to go out and press the flesh. The dog and pony show of campaigning, the local press coverage, the venues, the personnel you think that all goes away? Talk about saving money. Who's money? The campaign's? The donor's? They don't care about that shit. If you save money in one area cool that means you can spend it somewhere else.
Forgive them they think this thing is like a regular legitimate business, it isn't. They are lawyers in this business and you want to know why so many lawyers are in politics? Because like a lawyer they get paid no matter the result. There are no contingency fees here my friend. In fact the real business is in losing. Ever notice how the winning campaign guru go off and do something else while the losers hover around and work with campaign after campaign, after campaign collecting fees while trying to get that W?Martin Hash wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 11:15 pmThen you don’t know much.Okeefenokee wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 10:17 pm I figure Hash oughta know it's better to have a financially motivated employee than a sycophant.

Of course not, buzz killer.
So true. My favorite campaign advisor doesn't even know the issues. She couldn't tell you what the news was today, or even any history, but she can sure talk about up-to-the-minute campaigning odds. In the weird environment around me, even though everyone thinks I'm going to lose, I have a kind of aura. That plus a random viral event, and I win. I think everyone else suspsects that too.clubgop wrote: Thu Jun 14, 2018 1:21 amForgive them they think this thing is like a regular legitimate business, it isn't. And if true believer sycophants determined elections she would as well.Martin Hash wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 11:15 pmThen you don’t know much.Okeefenokee wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 10:17 pm I figure Hash oughta know it's better to have a financially motivated employee than a sycophant.

People saw her as a typical politician, say whatever it takes to get elected no matter what they believe, and once elected it doesn't matter, you can do what you want. So nobody believed her, for good reason.Speaker to Animals wrote: Thu Jun 14, 2018 11:02 am I don't think the people around her gave a shit about her vision, really. They were in it for the power and access. Indeed, that's all these deep state critters are interested in. They really don't have a driving ideology. The shit you see on television is just a farce.
Hash has a point there.
Trump wasn't supposed to win, but he hired people who actually believed in this nationalist idea. Say what you want about guys like Bannon, they are believers whereas the spirit-cooking criminal collaborators that Clinton hired were just power junkies.
