Well, unlike you, I'd marry the mother of my children and properly raise them if I could.
No need to marry her. Tax breaks are better if you don’t, actually.

And what on earth would be the incentive? Possibly losing half my shit or more, and paying for a ring, and a wedding? Why bother?
The children.

You're supposed to be thinking of the children, not yourself.
They are the entire reason that I'm going through this at all

Whether there's a marriage certificate on file somewhere has absolutely no bearing on my parenting of them. Believe that.

You, my friend, need to get snipped. You're having children with someone you don't love out of inertia. Tell me to piss off if I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

She got the tubes cauterized when the twins came. The damage is already done. I'm paying my "debt" for a cheap orgasm, no need to remind me.

My kids are everything, now.

Such a sad state. I can't tell you how sad. my love for Nerd is everything to me; the drama with his boys is ever encompassing, but necessary, or our love is irrelevant.

The kids are indeed everything. Now you need to decide if you're better off in your current situation or in a separated situation. Kids know when there's no love between their parents and it's not good for them to buy into that. Have you thought about setting up your own household?

Truly. Nowhere in the marriage vows did it say, "I promise to be nothing but hot/n/horny for you 24/7 from this day forward"
My husband must never see this. It will break him to know this could have been included.
 Nerd giggled too.

You mean paying for two households.

It's easier to just get married and see who lives longest.

Every few days, yeah.

I don't want to live without being around them, and most likely, I wouldn't be able to see them more than 2 days a week, while I'm working to support them. Also, yes, I'm not sure that I could even afford to do so, while paying for them. Then there's the remote possibility that she moves some other sucker into the house, and I can't protect them. So.... I guess I'm here as a warning to others.

This is what it means to "take responsibility". It's asking a hell of a lot more than people tend to think, when they discuss it.

That's a really bad idea if there's no love there. I'd rather pay for two houses and have my children see that I at least respect their mother.

What if you get shared custody?
