Re: RIP
In light of the news that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has joined CNN to host a weekend show, here’s a look back at the globetrotting foodie’s most pointed political remarks in recent years:
1. “I’m pretty happy about the tea party, because I think they’re ensuring that no reasonable electable Republican will be — will be president. They’re taking over the party in a way that makes them look more or less crazy.” — November 2010, CNN
2. “The last person I want to hear talk about politics or the nation’s conscience or obligation to the world is some Hollywood ****tard. Some well-paid douchebag who lives in a compound in Malibu has, to my mind, very little of value or interest to say to anyone who’s worried about the price of milk.” — July 2008, Travelchannel.com
3. “I don’t like the idea of legislating against McDonald’s, for instance. I think using propaganda would be acceptable.… There seems to be the assumption that the government owes you absolute safety, absolute security, absolute purity.… I don’t feel that I need a 20-page informational pamphlet telling me the cholesterol and contents of every special at every restaurant.” — November 2007, Reason.tv
4. “Ideologically, I’m as far from the tea party as you can get. But I’m a little uncomfortable about relentlessly sneering at them…. If I have one thing in common with the tea party — it’s, you know, beer and barbecue. We both like that and that’s the beginning of something, right?” — April 2011, CNN
5. On the following politicians:
Donald Trump: “Blowhard.”
Barack Obama: “A disappointment to me personally for someone I admired. I was very happy when he was elected President. I certainly voted for him and I was very happy when he was elected. I wish he’d get angry.”
George W. Bush: “Uhhh not an evil man… but I admire competency. So there is not really much to admire about Bush.” — May 2011, Not Quite Nigella
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Part of the literal-Hitler crowd.Anthony Bourdain, celebrity chef and outspoken host of CNN's “Parts Unknown,” says he will not eat in restaurants owned by president-elect Donald Trump.
“I will never eat in his restaurant,” Bourdain said in an interview with Eater published Wednesday. “I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt.”
The host went on to encourage other chefs and celebrities to refuse to endorse or normalize Trump, criticizing Al Gore and Kanye West, among others, who have met with the president-elect in the past several weeks.
“I’m not asking you to start putting up barricades now, but when they come and ask you, ‘Are you with us?’ You do have an option. You can say ‘No thanks, guys. I don’t look good in a brown shirt. Makes me look a little, I don’t know, not great. It’s not slimming,’" Bourdain said.

They seem to have an unusual number of suicides. Maybe the shared ideology is a factor, maybe a coincidence.

I've not finished making mixed race kids yet, you'll have to wait till I can't get it up any more.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:04 amBreitbart reports he was also a Pound Me Too activist.
So.. one less white and a man at the same time. That's courage of conviction right there. What's your excuse, Monty?

Well, that's where you are fucked. Muslims can have multiple wives and their women only want to marry Muslims. Muslims are just adding on your sisters and leaving you to it in your van.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:13 amI've not finished making mixed race kids yet, you'll have to wait till I can't get it up any more.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:04 amBreitbart reports he was also a Pound Me Too activist.

Re: RIP
He went from heroin addict and line cook to a culture guide for the world. He reinvented “food shows” into art pieces. He’s shown me the world, through American eyes, without fluff, and with total honesty. He’s a poet, a great author, and a voice for Gen X.DBTrek wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 9:44 amSuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 9:42 am
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Watch his show, or read his book. You’re making a fool of yourself.
Watched his show. Saw a decent culinary show. No heroics.
Only fool here is the guy mourning the loss of a “hero” - because fetishizing celebrities isn’t a mark of high intelligence.
He’s an American hero.

Just saying it’s possible that the mentally ill gravitate toward certain ideologies, or certain ideologies exacerbate mental illness. Can’t be healthy believing that you only succeed because of your skin color privilege, and that everyone else has a bad time because you personally are oppressing and murdering them. That’s not doing wonders for anyone’s self image.
