This is happening everywhere and it’s not just progressives. Every state and municipality is trying to scratch up stopgap funds. Everything from ‘earmarks’ that magically get diverted from their intended use to seizures that are used to pay for municipal goodies to property tax increases that are intended to have most of the money siphoned off for uses entirely unrelated to the stated reason for the increase.
Seems like people would be wise to stop voting for tax increases then, eh?

If we get to vote at all, it’s not on how the money gets spent.

The usual tactic here is “if we don’t get this increase then we will have to cut out something that most of you want.”

As we saw earlier, Jedi in his progressive rage has completely abandoned any semblance of trying to justify the actions of his political cohorts, and will now obsess over me personally, JD-style.

Does your predictability ever bother you?
Or are you oblivious to it?
You're the biggest fuckin whiner west of the cascades, man.
Rage on, lemming.
HM tried this same attack yesterday, but as we all know, nothing gets a progressive hard like repeating failed ventures.
I love all of these conservatives who live in western Washington that can't stand liberals.

Weren't you the one who said liberals don't create anything, they just redistribute wealth created by other people? Yet, you have/had tons of liberal co-workers? That level of cognitive dissonance and you're not aware of it? Tech workers who are liberal create nothing of value.

Seattle and King county, which is largely liberal, creates nothing of value. Shit man, I think you might be on to something there.

And since when is targeting someone personally off-limits? Shit man you've got an appointment with the referee over a long list of infractions if that's the case.

Nope, never said liberals haven’t created anything of value, deranged lemming.

Citing facts about progressive policies have apparently inflicted a mortal wound on your soul though. Whoo!

Let’s give you another dose:

So to quickly recap, after squandering $50million on “making it up as we go” homeless solutions, Seattle City Council alienated the areas largest employers with a head tax for another $48million. The money they’ve taken was supposedly going to fund less than 5% of the affordable housing they claimed to need. Which is ironic, since only 20% of the homeless say affordable housing is an issue. In actuality the head tax money will likely be spent as a funding stopgap measure for the Seattle City Council’s overspending.

So you agree then that liberals do things like create things of value.

And

Pay taxes?

Getting very basic here so your conservative mind can keep up. Shit, even getting a conservative on this board to admit to that would be something to behold. Man you're going to alienate most of your base saying that liberals create things of value.

Dude(ette), you don’t have to tell me, I’m right by Seattle. I’m all too familiar with the “If you don’t agree to the 17th new tax this year then we’ll have to shut down schools, libraries, and police stations” approach.

Followed by a panicked mob of Jedis and JDs screaming “why do you hate the children? Why do you hate infrastructure?!?” Anytime someone objects ... because taking hostages only works when you have an easily cowed victim eager to cave to your demands.

It’s not just progressives though - conservatives are just as bad at snatch-the-$. It’s a bipartisan game.
