Well the Canadian public doesn't know their own history, the public school system has erased British history.

So the average Canadian is not aware that the Sikhs were at one time Shock Troops of the British Empire.

The funny thing is that the regiment on parade here is ostensibly a 'Scots' regiment.

Because when it was founded the area they recruit from was of course mostly Canadian Scots.

Now that area has a huge South Asian population around Brampton.

So it's becoming a Canadian Sikh regiment by default, since the white kids don't join the army like they used to.

The immigrants are the primary pool of recruits now.

That's why this regiment went to the Sikh parade to recruit them.

I understand Justin from Canada is asking for a ban and buyback on AR15s and other semi-auto rifles in Canada, and the bill will allow cities to ban all guns.

Not sure I got all that right. Will this get past Parliament ?

It's complicated.

First of all, the RCMP decides what is banned and what is not, they don't actually report to the government, they have a mandate from the Crown to maintain Peace & Order.

So all firearms regulating is at the Mounties discretion.

The Liberals can pass a law, but the Mounties still decide how they will interpret it.

In terms of AR's, those are Restricted (to the range) already, so those won't be hard to ban.

But there are other automatic rifles which the Mounties do not classify as Restricted, so those may not be banned.

In terms of the city ban, the Liberals are in uncharted territory, the ban they are proposing is for handguns, in cities which request them to be banned, but that's not how the law works in Canada, so seems like bullshit.

Bear in mind that the Liberals are pathological liars; what they promise to get elected and what they actually do once elected are two totally different ballgames.

I see all sorts of problems for them, starting with a bunch of court challenges right out of the gate on this.

Thing is, I would like to sell my AR back to the Gov if they pay me what I paid for it, or something close.

Because it is Restricted to the range, I don't use it.

I do go to the range, but I go to the indoor range to shoot handguns.

I'm not really into the rifle range anymore. I'm really into handguns now.

I have an M14 clone which is not even Restricted, so I can take that Battle Rifle on Crown Land and go buck wild with it.

So I don't even take my AR out anymore.

The problem is the Liberals say they will buy back at "fair market price". What does that mean? $500? $1000?

If they gave me what I paid for it, I'd hand it over right now, but I'm thinking they are going to Jew me.

You know; pay me $500 for a $2000 rifle.
