I applied for a PPE loan for my son, Heath, months ago. Everybody around him was getting $100K loans and buying 2nd houses with the money, and he wanted a piece of that. I said, “a man’s got to have a code,” and only applied for $1K loan. Weeks went by, Heath got his job back, loan forgotten. Finally, I got an email saying my loan was approved but it had a $10/mo payment for 30 years. WTF!? All the “loans” I knew about up to $150K were forgivable. I ignored it.
Another month goes by; I start getting regular calls & emails from an “SBA Contractor” asking if I still wanted the loan because the application was going to expire at the end of June. I didn’t respond; let it expire.
July. The calls & emails kept coming. What happened to the “expire” I wondered. I didn’t respond. Finally today, after 2 ignored calls & emails, I responded. “I’ll take the loan if it’s forgivable,” I replied. “If not, I don’t want it.” The response: “It’s not forgivable.”
I think the “SBA Contractor” was a private money-lender operating under the guise of government. That shit is so dishonest. $10/mo for 30 years... Jesus fucking christ.
