I spent five years in the hole one time. No not in prison. In real life. It was maybe worse. I think if I ever had to do solitary confinement I would do cartwheels and spin around with my new found freedom. At least that way I knew it was out of my hands and there would be something on the other side.

Five years in the hole is a long fucking time and it's sure as shit not what I ever expected to be. I feel like I've been trained up for this my whole life. And in reality I have. Wtf should I care?

Depends on the plumbing. Some holes keep getting worse and worse till you're nose deep in shit. Dan's Blueprint for Armageddon shows this is not always a metaphor.
