GM strike
Curious what the crowd thinks about this union. I've always felt that it was perfectly appropriate for unions to advocate for worker pay, conditions, safety, benefits, and retirement funds. But I feel when a union is insisting on protecting jobs and preventing facility closures they've stepped over the line into being parasites on the business (or government). Workers shouldn't be able to force a business to operate less efficiently than they are able to, that will cause them to fail in the global market, or even lose to foreign factories in Right-to-Work states.
The other thing they're striking for is to reverse a deal they made for new hires to be a lower scale than the incumbent staff. This "fuck you, rookie" deal is pretty common to preserve perks, especially in public unions. Seems bad faith to strike to reverse it. They're making a big deal about how profitable GM is currently but all the US carmakers are really only one recession or oil shock away from being in trouble again.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Re: GM strike
Strikes aside, GM is hated by the GOP and Democrats. GM is an amazing piece of work. They are the only company I'm aware of that threatens to go bankrupt, gets bailed out by the tax payer, takes money from the government to innovate electric cars, then offshores to Mexico and China of all places. Simply amazing.

Fuck GM.
No sympathy. At least those workers are American citizens.

This is one those "I don't care who wins or loses, I just want to see them bloody each other up" cases.

Re: GM strike
Seriously, I can't possibly care enough to literally give a shit for GM.
They spent the past two decades shitting on the middle class, constantly threatening the American middle class with their very economic livelihoods. GM was one of the worst offenders. They would threaten to move plants to Mexico to get better union contracts, get a renegotiation, and then do it anyway. They'd fucking idle plants for months to destroy the lives of their own workers if those workers asked for more pay.
Now they went so far the workers are like fuck it, burn the entire company to the ground. Good.
Fuck all of these God damned globalist corporations. If they are going to fuck over the American middle class with the fucked up immigration (legal and illegal), offshoring, and fuck knows whatever else, then I say let's burn them to the ground any way we can. It isn't like we can depend on them for a damned thing anyway. Might as well go to war.
Nation comes before your shekels, you fucking assholes.
