Left-wing vs. Right-wing Liberty

Post by Martin Hash » Fri Aug 30, 2019 8:54 pm

Left-wing liberty overlaps Right-wing liberty in the areas of personal autonomy, and both are bounded by law, but they differ in that Left-wing liberty does not include the concept of personal responsibility nor is it limited by the liberty of other individuals. Both sides can argue they support liberty but like all Left vs. Right ideology, the individual-first vs. group-first difference makes the liberties completely incompatible. As for the law; the goal of The Right is to increase personal liberty with fewer laws, while the goal of The Left is to curtail personal liberty with evermore laws & regulations.
