More Democrats Should Be Calling for the Repeal of the Second Amendment

No one in a national elected office advocates repealing the Second Amendment. No matter how many schoolchildren are cut down in a hail of bullets, no matter how many wives and girlfriends are shot to death by a spouse with a long history of abuse, no matter how many men commit suicide with a firearm in their own homes, the subject is never broached. No one in power is calling for government to restrict all gun ownership on that scale...

Well ... since the Democratic Party is both primarily female, and perpetually engaged in actively limiting the rights of our citizens, maybe what we really need is a repeal of the 19th Amendment. How do you rights-discarding Democrats like them apples? A whole bevy or issues solved by simply yanking the voting privileges of the anti-rights party.

I mean, if your party is truly committed to curtailing citizen’s rights, it’s only honorable to start with your own. First repeal the 19th, and then we can work our way back to the 2nd.

It can't be repealed, though. How do they not understand this? It recognizes a pre-existing right. If the government somehow repealed it, we'd be in a de facto state of civil war.

I found this interesting.

Only three countries in the world currently have a constitutional right to own a gun: the US, Mexico, and Guatemala.
•Six other countries used to have a constitutional right to bear arms, but they've since repealed those laws.
•The US is the only country with a right to keep and bear arms with no constitutional restrictions.
Another example of US exceptionalism.

It seems most other "free states" have worked around this somehow.

Or perhaps the US is the only free state... and the rest of us are just wannabes... ;)
With Mexico and Guatemala as runner ups?

It can be appealed via constitutional convention....If they did that - I wouldn't like it, but I would accept it. What pisses the shit out of me is when they use bastardized logic in court rulings and pass unconstitutional laws to get their way.

Bipartisan issue, as your dear leader is calling for "I like taking guns away early," Trump said. "Take the guns first, go through due process second."

So maybe you republicans should own up that the leader of your party is pretty anti-second.

For what purpose?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
