The Middle Passage
The embrace of the FBI and CIA by the Left has been probably the greatest meme ever.
Jeremy Scahill is the biggest disappointment. He virtues so hard he has to love the CIA now.
This Peruvian cat though is interesting. He's talking real talk but I am not sure what his point is. I suppose he thinks we can all be like Tomorrowland IRL if we just decide we want to be.

Way I see it, the Colonial Empire has been willing to cede nearly all the territory which was conquered post the 1700s and been as decent to its conquered peoples as any empire which came before it. I am unclear what is expected of the Colonialist at this point other than willful capitulation to the vanquished...but then what????
Was Rhodesia RL or just internet blood sport? Is there a better way to organize society than capitalism? Are we just a bunch of blood covered monkeys?

People tend to be more Hobbesian or Rousseauian in their world view. I think the best is a mixture of both. Humans are complex and varied. We are ruled by emotion more than reason. I think a great tragedy in a lot of ways was the delusion of the Enlightenment. The idea that man was perfectible etc. Obviously (at least to me at this point) man is not. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to be better than our base instinct, or that there is no utility in achieving societal tranquility. Like many things there is a balance...with practical goals and more loftier ideals.

Spoke to my daughter about always trying to improve at everything we do in life after a 15-minute lecture of choosing to do things she knows she shouldn't for purely selfish reasons. I told her that its great that she is so well behaved already but you should always strive to improve yourself.GloryofGreece wrote:People tend to be more Hobbesian or Rousseauian in their world view. To start a workout regime with the ultimate goal of being able to dunk a basketball when you are only 2-ft tall is gonna result in tons and tons wasted resources until you realize a 2-ft tall motherfucker can't dunk.

Hey don't dash someone's NBA dream man! Sounds like you want to motivate your child to do well and give them achievable goals. Encourage them and make them better...that's all we can do, no?kybkh wrote:Spoke to my daughter about always trying to improve at everything we do in life after a 15-minute lecture of choosing to do things she knows she shouldn't for purely selfish reasons. An interesting tidbit I just picked up off listening to that podcast again which is germane to discussions on this board was about how the CIA uses contractors so they can "have boots on the ground" whereas if General Flynn had his way the DIA would be in charge and we wouldn't need contractors.
The CIA is bad fucking news. The fact they got two god-damn former directors on two of the three networks is a god damn disgrace. They are pre-positioned assets. All of those uneducated TV personalities who know absolutely nothing besides what they are told will sit in the story room or wherever the fuck the communist are giving out orders these days and just suck The Director's spittle out of the carpet.
It's literally like have a KGB Chief providing analysis on RT.
What makes it even better is they are proven, under oath, liars.

CIA is not as bad as they are made out to be. Some of them do some shady stuff. But other groups are far worse than them.

I didn't say play in the NBA. I said dunk a basketball.GloryofGreece wrote:Hey don't dash someone's NBA dream man! How about this, I think the trainer trying to improve your vertical is spending too much time working your chest out. In fact, he is actually making your vertical less even though you adding muscles to your frame. So you see a physical change and you expect your vertical will improve because now you can bounce your titties, but you actually are regressing away from your goal but the trainer is just saying once your pecs are big enough they will help, just keep pumping bro.

It ain't that big a club and the way its set up is so no-one is accountable which in my book means they all are.Speaker to Animals wrote:CIA is not as bad as they are made out to be. Some of them do some shady stuff. But other groups are far worse than them.

They really are just normal people for the most part. This deep state stuff seems pretty high up in the bureaucracy.
The people we need to reform are the FBI and the NSA, most of all.
I mean.. I would *not* let a CIA director become Secretary of State. I think they are getting a little too big for their britches. But people making them out to be the devil are just silly.
