content organisation is for pussies
Ski cross event started today. Watching athletes compete directly against each other is far more entertaining than watching them compete against the clock. Thrills, spills and big jumps, what's not to like about this relatively new addition to the games?

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I've been enjoying the curling and hockey. Even the ice dancing is good this year.
Not really interested in all of the skiing/snowboarding tricks/jumping stuff. It's neat for X-games, but that's about it. Shouldn't be in the Olympics.

Some of the ski tricks are really rad, though.

I agree about it not belonging but I find it more entertaining to watch than ice dancing which also has no place in a sporting event.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I've been enjoying the curling and hockey. Even the ice dancing is good this year.

The commentators are irritating as hell, but the athleticism on display is pretty staggering.Montegriffo wrote:I agree about it not belonging but I find it more entertaining to watch than ice dancing which also has no place in a sporting event.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I've been enjoying the curling and hockey. Are the Olympics a sporting competition or an athletic competition? Ice dancing - not a port, but they are no doubt, athletes. Still boring, though.

Is Smitty Corleone diversifying into the protection racket now? Her Majesty does not protect that right.Smitty-48 wrote:Nice thread ya got here. Shame if something were to happen to it.

It's not 'dancing', it's just figure skating a crazy hard routine, to music of your choice.Kath wrote:Are the Olympics a sporting competition or an athletic competition? Ice dancing - not a port, but they are no doubt, athletes. Still boring, though.
(I realized that I'm actually talking about the "Free Skate" I think, not Ice Dancing. Whatever, they make up their own thing and do it, and it's entertaining.)
