Nothing but special snowflakes, here.

Will you watch? I love the Olympics, despite all the issues. I prefer summer, but in winter, I like

- Skiing (most of it)
- Luge and bobsled
- Skating (most of it)

No thanks

- cross country skiing, especially the ski and shoot one
- ice dancing

Meh

- hockey - won't turn it off, esp in US game
- curling (Nerd loves to watch women's curling, for some reason.)

Mostly we just have it on; very few events grab our full, sit on the couch and watch, attention. I'll record opening ceremonies and get through the three hour debacle in about 30 minutes.

Sport bringing the world together in peaceful competition, what's not to like?

Are the Olympics still a pain in the ass to watch? All I can remember about the last Olympics is how unbearable the NBC programming schedule was. Have they modernized the availability to watch the games via the internet yet?

The Olympics totally used to be about amateurs. The 1980 USA hockey team rocked it, even against Russia's, ahem, "amateurs."

There is no Soviet Union anymore, so hard pass. Amateur hockey is lame as fuck, best on best national teams, that's where it's at.

Fuck the IOC and fuck the NHL, bunch of faggots for Making Olympic Hockey Shit Again.

Much as the MOI was a great Cinderella story, it wasn't a case where anybody thought Team USA was better than Red Army, whereas now, Team USA with its NHL players is a real deal hockey superpower, but if Auston Matthews is not playing, can't say I'm too interested, the IIHF World Championship is the best on best now, without the NHL players, the Olympic Tournament is just the Spengler Cup, which, can't say I really care who wins the Spengler Cup.

Wherever Auston Matthews is playing, that's where I'm watching, which is not going to be in Korea, for best on best international, I'll just wait out for the IIHF WC.
