The Moocher States...What Happens There?

Post by kybkh » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:24 am

Read two interesting articles this weekend. One talking about the fleeing migrants of Liberal strong holds across the nation and the second being about the "Moocher States" who just got over on the "Giver States" via the SALT Tax adjustment.

As amusing as it is to hear Liberals complain about paying taxes, I wonder if these people ever ask themselves why people in the "Moocher States" are "moochers"? Of course I am not going to mention the population sizes of these "Moocher States" which in itself, explains the the deviations in most of these locations. What if though, as we are taught concerning the trend of under performing African American communities, there are systemic road blocks in these less developed regions of the country created by places where wealth is concentrated?

Right now, we are well beyond the point of Economies of Scale. All the consolidation being done with the use of artificially low interest rates is stripping what little resource and industrial wealth which existed in these areas in return for a couple of devalued shekels.

Under Trump, red states are finally going to be able to turn themselves into poor, unhealthy paradises

Data compiled by the Pew Charitable Trust found that 10 states that receive less than a dollar back for every dollar they send to Washington: Delaware, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island. And here are the states that get more than $2 back for every $1 in taxes paid: Mississippi, New Mexico, West Virginia, Hawaii, South Carolina, Alabama, Maine, Montana, Alaska, Virginia, Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky and Vermont. You don’t have to be a political scientist to see the blue state/red state pattern here. Red state voters may talk a good game about small government and low taxes, but in reality they are socialist moochers.

In time, however, blue state Democrats could look forward to the satisfaction of watching Trump's voters stew in their own political juices as Red State America finally frees itself from the evil grip of global elites and big government and turns itself into a low-tax, low-wage, low health paradise where it's every man for himself.

As H.L. Mencken once put it, “Democracy is a theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it, good and hard.”

Good!!!

Moocherism is often caused by inertia. It’s not just in the red states. Everywhere in this country there are families where some people were driven to change (which often means moving, or at least bucking the familial status quo) and others did not (I suspect out of fear, laziness, or sheer inertia).

Yeah, and I live in Mass. For every dollar, we send to DC, and the state, we see nothing back either if we make "too much money"... so it's a catch 22.

Today's "change" is driven by cultural forces.

This ain't the 1980's politically speaking because the cultural differences between the parties have become much more drastic. Not because white people have changed, but because the % of white people has.

As long as you're including highways and military bases this thread is meaningless.

Kansas isn't mooching from Cali and NY because of the highway running through that connects the two.

Really, the whole ability to deduct state taxes against federal taxes is a fraud.

Typical of shortsighted american politics.

What does race have to do with it?

Maybe the change is cultural in part, but I'm looking back much farther than the 80s. It's disconcerting looking at the split in the country. People seem to be content being what we used to look down. To tell someone "You lack ambition" was an insult.

Race has everything to do with it. Insomuch as we wipe out the white majority, we necessarily dispense with high-minded political difference for identity politics. Identity politics is the consequence of a multi-racial society, and -- news flash -- the democratic party is the coalition of anti-white identity groups.

The white majority are the people I'm talking about, since I have more in common with them and thus less tolerance for their lack of drive. If our ancestors could cross an ocean with nothing and make something of themselves in a country that didn't care for them in a generation, what is the excuse for Americans who sit in the same place for generations and refuse to even try?
