Anyone read the book by Medievalist Mortimer?

Its pretty cool and well written. The Historian is a notable writer on Medieval history. He sets up the parameters nicely in the beginning and delivers a persuasive conclusion. He believes that the 1800s and the 1900s had the most change. Mortimer looked for innovations of cultural, political, societal, and technological significance that fundamentally changed the way people lived at the end of a given century than when it began.
He also sadly notes that there will likely be a return to more historical hierarchies in the not so distant future. As natural resources decline and population increases things will kind of go back to those ancient power structures.
What say you, which century had the most impact change?

Re: Change Throughout Past 1000 Years
Without a doubt the last 175 years has had the most change.
If you were living in the 1840s your were barely ahead of the people living in the 12th C. Since then the advancement of technology, science, medicine, etc has been off the charts.
It parallels the rise of the United States of America. The United States changed the world for the better for all of history.

Be careful GloryofGreece! That author shows up a lot on ripoff report! Apparently he just made a bunch of stuff up and put it in a book. That's his thing. Please be aware that anything you read in there was probably unverified nonsense.
