ObamaCare is a failure... and my last bill is proof.

I pay for health insurance, before ObamaCare when I had a surgery it was covered... I didn't see a bill. After my knee surgery two weeks ago, I get a bill in the mail for $1,800. That is what Health Insurance didn't cover. WTF!? On top of that, I got a $1500 bill yesterday for my wife's ambulance ride...

Please remind me when ObamaCare was enacted, how we were supposed to be able to not only keep our doctors, but insurance costs were to go down, and we would be paying less for everything?

I pay $400 a month for health insurance... I shouldn't have to pay shit out of pocket. (family plan)

Congratulations! That's a fantastic rate! Your employer must be picking up a very healthy portion of it.

Nope... they got the bare minimum, I am paying for two insurance plans now, so that what one doesn't cover the other does.

And the reason why it's "cheaper" in Mass is that we have price limit increases in our state, but even with them since ObamaCare has been put into place, we have seen an increase of over 100%.

Yeah, that’s pretty good. If we went on our district family plan, the cheapest one available is $1,316/mo. Thank god my wife gets good coverage for her and our daughter at her work. My individual HD plan is still $351/mo. with a $5000 deductible.

Again, you aren't paying shit compared to most. So, consider yourself lucky.

We're well over $700/month for the family, and that's with a $6,000 deductible and a 30% co-pay after that.

Yeah, that's the problem, health care isn't cheaper, and the deductibles are killing us... I don't have that much money holed up anywhere.

That is because Mass has a good health care system, but was weakened by ObamaCare. Oh, and for a heads up... you are getting off with murder...

I have an $8000 deductible and a 50% Co-Pay under my company... I got the other to cover what it doesn't. I shouldn't need two insurances to cover what one should.

Even the "lucky" ones are getting hammered. The topic heading stands, it's a failure. We still had some of this coming at some point. For a number of reasons already discussed in other threads over the years, health insurance in the US is broken. ObamaCare made a lot of promises it never kept, and I think the authors knew it.

I guess I'm also one of the lucky ones. My company still has reasonable premiums, but the plans are all high deductible now, so we have to have FSAs or HSAs in order to (hopefully) handle the $6800 deductibles. For those not aware, that means I have to pay $6800 before insurance begins to pay for anything.

A $6800 deductible means you have no health insurance. Your company is only providing catastrophic insurance which probably caps at a $million anyway. You got nothing bankruptcy wouldn't give you.

Point is that the system was broken far before Obama came along. My rates have been going up and up and up since the late 80's. I used to pay $20/month and nearly everything was covered at 90% or more, including scripts that were almost always free.

Now, with a $6K deductible at $700/month...

It didn't go from $30/month to $700/month since Obama... my rates since Obamacare have risen at approximately the same rate, in general.

Note - I'm no champion of Obamacare - I was against it from the beginning. I just don't see it as the primary reason that our healthcare system is in a downward spiral. It has been, since Nixon got involved.
