Trans-Gender, why is this a thing?

Ok, let me get to the point. People are saying that a "Trans-Gender" woman won an election. Is this person a Man or a Woman?

Let me explain why I ask, to maintain the persona of what gender the person is attempting to be, the person needs to take hormones of said gender to override what they were born with. A man will, at this time never grow a vagina, and a woman will never grow a penis even with hormones, a surgery will be required for either, but even then there is a chance in many cases that they will need to take medications to keep their body from rejecting the surgery.

So why, after even a surgery do we not call them the gender they are attempting to be? Why do we still call them Trans-Gendered? Is it because they will never truly become the gender they are pretending to be? Yes, I did say pretend, because their own body rejects what they are attempting to do, and medication needs to be taken to keep that rejection from happening in many if not all cases.

Why do we allow these people, who have obvious mental disorders to dictate what we call them? Gender Dysphoria is a mental disorder, so when did we let the inmates run the asylum?

I digress, the issue I have is that people are spending our time, money and in many cases our sanity to compensate for their own lack of gender confusion, and mental insecurities.

So is she a he, or is he a she? Or does it matter because without the medications the person is taking they are just putting a very expensive facade up for everyone to see so they feel "pretty".

My wife said that the person is now female, so I asked why put Trans-Gender in the description? If they were done transitioning shouldn't they be Female or Male? My issue with the term Trans-Gender is that it means that even after they are done "transitioning" they are truly never done... so they are neither truly male or female, even though they may outwardly look one gender or another (if they are lucky to not be hit with the ugly stick)

She couldn't give me an answer... I think that honestly says volumes.
