Or just shitty markets, I'm just getting out of living paycheck to paycheck... it sucks, but it took me over a year to do it. Now I got the opportunity to live. It just took time to get out of the hole... but realistically Americans need to get off their ass and stop accepting mediocrity as well.

Some of that for sure but stagnant wage growth with non stop inflation of the cost of living over the last 18 years is taking it's toll on the traditional middle class. Understand what is happening around you don't rely on Talk Radio talking points.

Living paycheck to paycheck, and being poor aren't the same thing.

Plenty of folks in the military live paycheck to paycheck, and have ample income.

I make a lot of money and go just about paycheck to paycheck because I'm self indulgent.

But hey, no debt, so it balances out ha ha.
