I watched some movies while in China. There's no reason they can't surpass the U.S. in gross. Bollywood is almost as huge now, and Chinese stuff looks better.

It would be wonderful if Hollywood could stop catering to foreign markets and less sophisticated 'splody' spectacles... but they won't. They'll just double down :sadface:

Hollywood is gonna self destruct and not just because of foreign competition. It's getting more and more expensive to make movies in LA and they seem bent on chasing filmmakers away.

So support indi films - most shoe string films today are of better quality than the classics of the 1940's.
Hollywood can suck it - no one needs them - except themselves.

They are just stuck in a rut right now. Something will eventually snap them out of it and we will get a new golden age of Hollywood cinema.
