I actually think most of today's children's entertainment is retarded. Like that Pixar crap, house-music dancing penguins, what good is any of it? It doesn't contain any psychological truth.

Of course this youtube kid stuff is a whole different level. What I notice is that it is exactly the most fetishistic motifs which get copied over and over again, the cleaning the dirty feet, the needles in the ass, the pregnancies, the chopped off fingers, crying, etc.

It all seems to hinge on intentionally tapping into children's psychological fears and fascinations of the body through the actions of cartoon characters, creating a hypnotic, brain-wash like effect.

There is also an appeal to base urges, eating disgusting amounts of candy, bathing in cheese puffs, acting like babies and so on.

There is definitely something creepy and winking in all of it. Clearly some of it is actually made by pedophiles, others by those copying whatever appears to get the most hits.

I think an investigative journalist could write a decent multi-page article about this, find out what's really going on.

Personally I don't understand why parents are so eager to "entertain" their children with media in the first place. Why not entertain them by telling stories, teach them about life?
