On a somewhat serious note, those every fewer Americans that have jobs are often working til they drop. So in response, Big Biz is acting like narcs. I suspect most of these jobs are not as pilots, or surgeons, and most people can do good work even high (and after some of loooong lunches corporate types take, with plenty of excellent legal wine followed by coffee...trust me on that.

Perhaps it's a scam like how some states make people on unemployment, or other assistance, pay for their own drug testing? At least in one state (Scott in Florida) the company doing the testing was owning part by the damn Governor.

Employers should not be able to test workers for drugs except in very specific cases. Its an invasion of privacy.
Drug testing is especially egregious because it doesn't pick up the most dangerous drug (alcohol) and unfairly skews against the least dangerous drug (marijuana)
Opiates and stimulants exit the body so quickly only the hardest users wouldn't be able to withhold for 3 days in order to get it out of their system. Addicts that far gone wouldn't be looking for a job or able to hold one down anyway.
