Goodbye California; We'll Still Take Your Refugees For Now

Post by Fife » Mon Mar 06, 2017 5:08 pm

California is a losing bet; for everyone not paid by the state, at least for the moment.

We are still happy to take in Golden State refugees... at least for the time being.

I know some of you guys insist upon "evidence" from time to time.

From the Sacramento Bee:

California exports its poor to Texas, other states, while wealthier people move in
Every year from 2000 through 2015, more people left California than moved in from other states. This migration was not spread evenly across all income groups, a Sacramento Bee review of U.S. Census Bureau data found. The people leaving tend to be relatively poor, and many lack college degrees. Move higher up the income spectrum, and slightly more people are coming than going.

About 2.5 million people living close to the official poverty line left California for other states from 2005 through 2015, while 1.7 million people at that income level moved in from other states – for a net loss of 800,000. During the same period, the state experienced a net gain of about 20,000 residents earning at least five times the poverty rate – or $100,000 for a family of three.

No. Fuck you. Lock down the borders. Let this sort itself out. No California refugees in Appalachia.

I said "for now."

I'm glad to have Nissan N.A. headquarters moved from L.A. to my town a few years ago, for the moment, among many others.

I'm not so cold-hearted as to not allow the Californians a reasonable amnesty period to get to Tennessee.

I'll go with a "wet-foot, dry-foot" plan for, what, say 7 days?

They really fucked over Austin. I mean it was always fucked up but it was ours. Now it's no different than San Francisco.

They will just bring the cancer to your hometown and we will have to exclude you from the Free Republic of Appalachia.

Quarantine now.

We should take in every Californian fleeing the flakey tyranny and immediately form up free battalions. It's best that the once-golden state should be liberated by volunteer units to as great an extent as possible.

The sooner we can get to a hard reset on California property rights, as recognized by the several states, the better. IMNSHO.

They don't think they'll be taking federally designated land with them, do they?
