I'll start it off with the news which came out yesterday about giraffes now being added to the endangered species list.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Assuming you're using the IUCN red list, the giraffe is vulnerable, not endangered.

I was half awake this morning when I heard so I missed that. I think they said the population had dropped by 75% in the last couple of decades.

Also, there are flaws with the IUCN, although they're one of the better conservation monitoring groups.
Anything coming from WWF or Greenpeace can be thrown straight in the trash.
