I don't know that Cole actually had any timelines on it, but it looks like Carthage to me. Are you familiar with his 5 painting series, The Course of Empire ? This one is called Destruction.

Danielle Bolleli's great History on Fire podcast had a great series on Caravaggio. TBH, I really have no interest in art but the life of Caravaggio gave me an interest in him and his awesome paintings

Until I saw it pointed out in WestWorld, I had absolutely no idea that this was the shape of the human brain, on the right, containing God. What fucking genius, if it's true.
