Subjectivity is a wonderful thing when applied to one's self, and a terrible thing when projected onto others. Sanctimonious, self-righteous judgment-passing, as their what other people eat can be the most despicable. My wife, Gwynne, and I were walking through a market in Dali, China that would make the holier-than-thou-I-don't-eat-anything-with-a-face crowd go absolutely apoplectic with condemnation. This last definitely had the China stamp of authenticity. Chickens beheaded & gutted in open stalls, live eels squirming in shallow tin pots, and most telling, a man leading several dogs to an uncertain, but probably terminal, fate. Obviously the hyperbole of Western do-gooders claiming that Australia is the cruelest" nation in the world" for culling kangaroos has no concept of reality.Dogs in Market.JPG
