Any deal with the EU had to be punitive. You can't be allowed to leave the club and then prosper. What precedence would that set? The fact that Britain is a net contributor to the EU makes it even more important to make it hurt like hell. The EU could lose one of those leaching south or east European countries tomorrow and no one would care, but Britain, that has to hurt. They need to send a message. The EU == The Fourth Reich.
Britain can take another continental system blockade. Europe will be the poorer for it. Don't bow down to the bullies.

If the EU wants to shoot themselves in the foot to send a message to other nations who want to leave, it's going to hurt them more than it hurts Britain, and they are just speeding up their own demise by making being in the EU an even worse deal than it already is.Hastur wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2019 3:28 am Any deal with the EU had to be punitive. For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It's very clear that these haters are quite counter-productive and it's easy to look good standing next to these screeching autists.

Bill to delay Brexit past the deadline if no deal can be made just passed in the Commons. One more Tory joined the Rebel Alliance.
Bill now goes to the Lord's to be rubber stamped.
Tory Lords will attempt to filibuster with around 100 amendments to the bill.
Opposition leader in the upper house is introducing a motion to guillotine the debate in order to pass it before the suspension of Parliament on Friday.
Boris expected to introduce a bill to call early election this evening hoping to hold the election over the deadline so we crash out while it is being held.

He has 100% failure rate in the Commons. 2 out of 2 debates lost and not expected to win an early election. His majority has fallen from 1 to minus 22.
Invincible my arse.
