I'm sorry, I can't allow you to do that Doug...
Actor Douglas Rain, who was the voice of the sinister computer Hal in sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey, has died, the organisers of a theatre festival he founded have said.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Can you believe people used to wear hairpieces like that?! (As a kid, Stan Lee was the epitome of success.)

That just got you crossed off Penner's Christmas card list.

One demerit for disrespecting the dead. Penance will be going to his memorial service (even if it's raining).

I was planning on sending Penner a Christmas card plus an awesome gift, so if she doesn't get me anything, that's on her.

I'm not a Stan Lee or comic book fanboi. But the man seemed to make a lot of people happy with his craft. So, good for him. I expect tons of nerd tears over the next few days and a lot of over hyping his career. Some of his cameos in the Marvel flicks were funny, some forced.

There will be a life of Stan Lee movie made too.

my early takeaway from reactions to his death: wannabe nerds and wannabe edge lords both act like his cameos are what he's known for
