Let's face it kids: we're not going to get anything remotely resembling real history on main stream television--people just aren't interested in legitimate inquiry into the past. If there were truly a market for unsensational or non-politically motivated hermeneutical examination of historical events (other than drawn out romance novels with semi-historical settings featuring beautiful actresses who are incredibly intelligent (yet possessing incredible physical and emoional fortitude), alongside goofy but handsome costars hardened by war, crime, -isms, and other seemingly insurmountable social constructs), ken Burns wouldn't need public funding to spew forth the government's latest version of the War in Vietnam.

Try tuning in to "Mysteries at the Museum." How long could you go without being subjected to such vapid and currently popularly phrases like: climate change, sustainability, glass ceiling, diversity &c.? As for the film industry... you must be kidding.Hwen Hoshino wrote:Come on most historical tv series i saw have little to do with present day politics. Stop being such a Negative Nimrod.
The basic difficulty with "historical" television and movies stems from a weak foundation in that discipline and a gullible, malleable, sometimes willfully ignorant audience.
