What the media, both foreign and domestic, refer to as "the jewelry law" was a law that demanded that refugees entering the country and who applied for social benefits could not own personal fortunes of more than 10,000 kroner pr. person (roughly 1,400$) when they arrived. It recieved alot of foreign media attention at one point as unfair and outrageous, even though any Danish recipient of welfare benefits is also not allowed to have more than 10K kroner/1.4K$ on their bank account if they want to recieve welfare. In action, I don't think there has been a single case of a refugee having handed over actual jewelry or any other values that exceed the limit of what they're allowed to have.TheReal_ND wrote: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 32161.html
J-jewelry law? What did she mean by this?
Anyway, most Danes, even those agreeing with Støjbergs immigration policies, have posted that posting a picture of a cake celebrating something like that is crass. Our strict immigration policy is neccesary, it is not triumphalism, not a deliberate attempt to cause pain, or part of a "war". Nor should it be seen as such.
We should not pretend that it doesn't cause pain amongst those rejected and that there are asylum applicants who will be forced to return to their miserable third world countries. Doing what is neccesary, should not result in the trivialization of the outcomes of said neccesity. There is honor in doing what is neccesary, especially when the neccesary is hard. Making fun of the misery of others... it belittles and dishonors the legitimacy of the rightness of those 50 laws and law revisions Støjberg claims for herself. Imagine if you got a perfect, white America for yourself, with all the black people got shipped off to Africa, or new, seperate segregated states - or whatever your dream society looks like. Even if you're a self-avowed racist, I'm sure you would not celebrate the distress, misery or suffering of black people and their families as they were deported.

It's all turkish hot air he will probally keep rattling the cage until the referendum in turkey. The turkish government has called the dutch government remants of nazi's, a banana republic and accused us of genocide in bosnia during the civil war. After the bosnia genocide accusation the dutch government said that this is so ludicrous it's not even worth a response.TheReal_ND wrote:

Good job on those elections. Your people have stepped back from the brink of Stupid, unlike so many of us.
