My youngest son & his family are visiting from Peru. I get to talk politics with him that I don't get anywhere else because my views are accepted by no one. I think I have clearly identified where America is and where it's going, and I don't fit anywhere. There are some MAGA-people out there but every time I have any contact with them, it's clear they have no true understanding of their ideology, and no legitimate leadership. I can no longer get worked up about anything because there is nothing and nobody to save.

A 43+ year friend & wife was over yesterday. I spent their entire visit (they showed up unannounced) trying not to demand he get the fuck out of my house: he's a Fascist; his wife was telling us about ghosts in their daughter's home; they both bagged on my pro-Trump Russian neighbors, blatantly calling them drug-dealers. The guy takes psyche meds but called me a "crank" for not believing the "news." America is fucking over.

You live in Washington state, right? Washington like Mass is lost... For Mass it's even worse... the history of what this state was, the founding of this country, the shot heard around the world... this state has forgotten everything that made it what it is...

We need to both get out of where we live and get the hell out of Dodge.
