America didn't really care until the war came to them. They were too busy making money from the war to get involved until they had no choice.

They wanted to bring "peace back to Europe" so bad, that they (too) ignored the Soviet invasion of Poland and allowed the Soviets to turn Poland into a vassal state after the war.

If only Poland had just peacefully ceded Danzig surrounding area as the Germans wanted, there'd be so much more peace. For a time.

Britain, like the US, went to war to secure a balance of power that was favorable to their interests. Same as the reason for 99% of every other war fought by whomever, whenever, whereever.
