But I think the president is too powerful... not Trump, but the office, and I would like to see everyone and their mother take a crack at it until the Commander in Chief is relegated to his office, pushing pencils and being an administrator to the MIC. Not even making decisions about who we are attacking. Not having press conferences and trying to manage policy. Just administrating.

I also think the FBI is too powerful, so I am hoping they have to air some home truths as well. Take a crack at Lynch, take a crack at Comey, put the whole lot in their place.

The main argument seems to be that, as DC colleagues, Mueller and Comey worked together on an issue 15 years ago. Objectively, and meaningfully, I would not consider someone I worked with 15 years ago on a project someone I had a 'personal or political relationship' with.

The Office of the POTUS is too powerful. We talked about this at DCF. I said one of my big wishes was for Trump to get elected, Trump pisses off Congress and Congress rebalances power.

However, these villainous scum pass an amendment to a law, that upholds a previous presidents Executive Order, while limiting another President. Which is utter bullshit. It's not real, it's as one Senator said on the floor, getting a piece of Trumps hide; certainly not limiting the Presidents power in perpetuity.

In short order if we could do one thing in Congress, it would be to get rid of the Gang of Eight. The Gang of Eight is not good for us, gives power intended for all of Congress to a few, and elevates the power of the Intel Community.

The conflict of interest statute would be relevant if Mueller had a personal relationship with Trump or someone who served on his campaign. His relationship with Comey would only be a concern if Comey is being investigated. It's not my impression that he is, but I could be wrong.

I think the idea is that if Mueller is pushing the obstruction of justice angle, then Comey becomes... I don't know the lawyer-talk for it... evidence?

Personally, I could even buy that, if their relationship could be shown to be more than a professional one between two fellas in similar work... which I don't think has happened yet, much to the chagrin of some of my fellow forum best-friends-for-ever.
