Irony:
risk assets rallying on populist/nationalist developments when the root of these movements (at least in part) is the growing gap between wages and risk assets.

Well, the establishment is so clueless that I'm confident we will continue to push the gap between wages and risk assets to increasing disparity, we will continue to see more unrest and populism, and then we will have no choice left but to conclude that the unrest is caused by [insert WaPo headline referring to race/education/religion/bigotry here].GrumpyCatFace wrote:Almost as though the 'solutions' were making it far, far worse...apeman wrote:Irony:

The federalists should be blamed if the European Union dissolves. They are the real culprits. Never were happy what had been gained, oh no, they just wanted more power to themselves in Brussels. As if the Union would dissolve somehow without being an "United States of Europe".

So, what's the next election/referendum in Europe that could keep driving the Union off the cliff?
The French election is coming up, but it's still months away.

I feel like Charlemagne's accomplishments often to exaggerated. He certainly was the greatest leader of his time, but I feel he should take a back seat to the Romans when it comes to the title "Grandfather of Europe". There is a reason Charlemagne's empire was named after Rome.BjornP wrote:And I have to say, I like the confederacy idea much better as well. Federalists like to prop up Charlemagne as the "Grandfather of Europe". But imo, Hanseatic League > Charlemagne's Empire.

The problem with the Euros staring to lean right....is that they'll keep leaning right until they fall over...

That's absolutely true, but it gives the Germans an inferiority complexTheOneX wrote:I feel like Charlemagne's accomplishments often to exaggerated.
