Here is a breakdown of what we know so far about the critically ill patients who survive:

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/04 ... -beginning

That is really bad. Let's say we go back to work right now with no known treatment and no community testing, but we somehow manage to flatten the curve so that we only have a few hundred thousand deaths instead of the 2.2 million deaths. We just lost a few hundred thousand people, our health care system is crashed so you just wrecked about 17% of the economy you were trying to save, and you have almost two million survivors from the ICUs who are going straight to disability.

How do you think that helps your economy?

Especially considering the fact that, if there is a huge spike in cases and dying as a result of this grand reopening scheme, people are going to self-isolate anyway.

DB and StA (DSL) going at it - and they said life would never go back to “normal”.

if you survive, you are very likely to be permanently disabled

The economy is fucked regardless of how we deal with this right now. We should be discussing how to manage it. Instead you have proles clamoring to risk covid death so that they don't starve. It's a pretty shitty deal compared to the rest of the developed world.

The worst part of it is that we could reopen the economy if we had the testing in place and everybody could wear a mask. Simple shit that the federal government could have been doing to get us there they did the exact opposite of.

Nobody is against "any kind of measures to help prevent people from spreading this."
Not even those calling it "not even a flu, a failed psyop"?

Those Mammon worshiping fuckers! Prepare the camps before they kill us all .... right!?!

I’m going to take this subtle shift in tone from you as evidence that despite all your protestations, you heard me. Good.

Realizing there are millions of people who are going to rank COVID exposure as less important than Impending homelessness and starvation is the first step in finding common ground.

Imagine we figure out how to distribute these things like other developed nations have done. Crazy.

Take your "disabled people's arguments are invalid because they are on disability" fallacies and shove them up your fat ass.

Here's a thought:

Trump and Congress gave corporate America about six times as much as was distributed in stimulus checks. None of them had to wait for a check either. Imagine if we had just taken the same total amount and distributed it to people over the course of six months instead.

Or taken the money to pay employers to keep employees on the books so that the economy just stays on hold until we get adequate testing capacity to reopen?

It's almost like there were possibilities..
